Phiota's research on Latino fraternity ethnic identity development
published in the Journal of College Student Development

    Tallahassee, Florida - April 2008

Does membership in a Latino fraternity enhance the ethnic identity development of its members? Brother Dr. Juan "Varadero" Guardia's research findings says it does. His research on the factors influencing the ethnic identity development of Latino fraternity members at a Hispanic serving institution will be published in the May/June 2008 issue of the Journal of College Student Development (JCSD), the leading scholarly journal on the study of college students in the field of student affairs. The official journal of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) - College Student Educators International, the JCSD is published six times per year and mailed to approximately 10,000 subscribers and is the largest empirical research journal in the field of student affairs and higher education.

ACPA is the leading student affairs Association that advances student affairs and engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery. ACPA has nearly 8,000 members representing nearly 1,500 private and public institutions from across the U.S. and internationally. In addition, members include companies and organizations who are engaged in the campus marketplace. Our members include graduate students enrolled in student affairs/higher education administration programs as well as faculty who are teaching and researching in this area to student affairs professionals from entry level to senior student affairs officers.
